This is a poem I wrote during a time when God was pulling me out of my darkness, out of a life far away from Him, and calling me to surrender my life to Him. If you intend to share it with others, please give credit where credit is due.
It has been a long dry season
away from You, my God.
A time when I was desperately alone.
That is how I felt.
But You never left my side
Not once, did You let go.
You always hoped for my return
and held me close in the night.
My future was dark,
A shadow cast
I couldn't bear the thought of my past,
Nor a future
With our without You.
I walked away, chose...
Not You; but the world instead.
Shame, guilt, pride.
I surrender all to You now -
I am finally Free!
